Also Brown Leghorns are very easy to sex because the males are a totally different pattern.

It is very hard to be correct in sexing very young chicks. Elvis will just have to be one of those non-crowing, egg-laying roosters. She is beautiful.

I was at a feed store once, and they had about 80 diff breeds of chickens, and a bin of just roosters. I looked in the rooster bin, and thought, that chicken has a taller comb, but I bet it a female. I bought it, and it was a female minorca. She was a neat hen, laid white eggs, and followed me everywhere and always wanted to know what I was doing.

Oh also I read that if you order a fry pan bargan from a hatchery you could end up with 1/3 hens.
