Is this a Hen?

So, I rescued my friend, Repecca Huevos, from the Slaughterhouse. I bought her a house which is coming in the mail and plan to keep her for an egg layer. I was told that the bird is a hen. But, the comb and waddle are pretty big, so I am worried that I may have gotten a rooster. Can someone help me identify my friend's gender?

Yes, that's a rooster.
Better pictures would help, and we may be ale to tell you the breed. But he's looking like a mix, or something.

That would depend on the age of the bird. Does it crow? I would guess not since you wouldn't be asking if you had heard that. If the bird is 5 months old it COULD be a hen, close to laying. If 2 months old, cockerel for sure.

see how his tail feathers curve at the end? thats 100% a rooster my friend. none the less, a rooster can be your best friend

I'm guessing a red ranger or similar type meat bird.

He's also definitely a cockeral.

You can try to keep him as a pet but being a meat bird you may have to restrict his feed or he may develop leg problems.
