He looks to be a mixed breed. Is he... barred? I have a hard time telling in this picture but I think he may have ghost barring

Um, so on behalf of those of us who are new to this and thought Wally was right, what IS that white area called?

The diagrams I've seen have been less than helpful...

The outer Ear canal usually has a tuft of down or tiny feathers. Below the ear is the ear lobe.
