Is this a Leghorn?

This little girl/guy was my "free chick" from Mcmurrey. His/Her name is Comet.

Hard to say. Could be a White Plymouth Rock, but if the earlobes are reddish, it is probably a Rock and if white, a Leghorn. Can't see the lobes in the photo, but you may have to wait a bit to see how it develops.

Most of the free chicks are cockerels, just so you know.

As the "exotic" chick, it really shouldn't be a Leghorn or Rock. I'd hope for a white Orpington, maybe?

MMM does have white Orps, and their "rare, exotic" chicks are supposed to be from breeds they consider, well, rare or exotic. It's kinda funny because they have EE on that list, but besides that they're usually pretty good about sending out something unusual. I'd be pretty upset to get something run of the mill like a Leghorn or Rock. I guess only time will tell?

I agree with Rachel, if they say "exotic", I want exotic, right? An EE is not exotic, but they send those a high percentage of the time.

Looks like a White Rock or White Leghorn to me. Orpingtons should have whitish legs, whereas this one has orange ones.

I've ordered from Murray McMurray on several occasions, but I always decline the free chicks from MM and other hatcheries as I don't need a cockerel and that's usually what they turn out to be.
