I purchased 6 chicks in may, all different breeds, but I’m not sure if this one is a light brahma. It’s my first time raising chickens, so I’m not as familiar with baby chickens feather colors, and I apologize for the blurry photos.

Yeah, thats a cockerel, I am not great on breed though.I purchased 6 chicks in may, all different breeds, but I’m not sure if this one is a light brahma. It’s my first time raising chickens, so I’m not as familiar with baby chickens feather colors, and I apologize for the blurry photos.
Not a Brahma. Looks like an Orpington, & a cockerel.I purchased 6 chicks in may, all different breeds, but I’m not sure if this one is a light brahma. It’s my first time raising chickens, so I’m not as familiar with baby chickens feather colors, and I apologize for the blurry photos.
The breeds that were being sold included Red Broiler/Rudd Ranger Straight Run, Cinnamon Queen Pullets, Cornish Cross Straight Run, Rhode Island Red Pullets, Buff Orpington Pullets, Barred Rock Pullets, Easter Egger Pullets, and Light Brahma Pullets. They were from Cackle Hatchery, and I got them at Blain’s Farm and Fleet. I think the employee accidentally picked one of the Buff Orpington chicks, which had been sexed wrong by the hatchery. That is not a brahma unfortunately, because of the single comb, wrong coloration, and absence of feathered feet. It also appears to be a cockerel (rooster) incase you were unaware. If you want a better chance at breed guessing I suggest you wait until he is full grown. Then repost with clear pictures of legs full body, comb/head, as well as listing of where you got him, and what possible breeds there were at this place if there was a list. Hope this helps!![]()
