Give it at least 12 hours to see if they're straightening up on their own before trying the shoes. Those toes aren't too bad, so even if they don't straighten up on their own, shoes should fix it

If it's moving, it's best to leave it alone. Some hatch later than others. One of the eggs is still moving a little. I don't see a pip yet but I could check again. Should I make a small hole at the broad end to start a pip? I'm a little worried that this one is too overdue, and maybe I should intervene if he's having issues like the hatched one had.
Patience. I wish I had someone to help me when I've done it, because it would be so much easier to have someone hold the chick so you can use both hands on a foot. I would take the card stock and put the tape on it first. Then slide the card stock gently from the back of the foot forward so it straightens the toes, and close the tape fast. Sometimes you have to try again and again.@Nabiki any tips on how to tape the feet? He doesn't stay still for very long
Forgot to mention I moved him to the brooder now. I changed out the water feeder and cut out the bottom to fill with water. I put two rocks in just in case. I also have some dishcloths under the heat lamp since he seemed to be a bit cold. At night I'm going to keep the lid on for the light since I don't trust the light to hang where I have it (there are shelves above so I have it closed on the wire so the light can dangle). His feet are still an issue because it's hard to tape them
Ok both feet are taped. I can already tell he hates it, but at least his feet go flat at the bottom. I'm letting him chill out for now because he's struggling to learn how to walk the correct way. His toes are closer together than the pictures of the examples, but his foot is now bent in the correct position. I'm just going to let him figure it out. I noticed on his left foot is little toe is hanging out above the tape, but I don't think it'll be an issue.Patience. Should be fine. Try taking the tape off tomorrow. It doesn't take long to fix the toes.Ok both feet are taped. I can already tell he hates it, but at least his feet go flat at the bottom. Ok thanks. Checked the temp since he's been hanging out in the corner with the light, and the hottest part is 101 degrees while the corner with the water is at 80.5. I tried encouraging him to eat and drink, but I think he's still trying to get the hang of it.Should be fine. Try taking the tape off tomorrow. It doesn't take long to fix the toes.
