Hey guys!

Do you think this is a pure RIR? I have RIR hens that I would like to breed and I want pure chicks.

Thanks for the opinions!

*Sorry for only having one not so great picture lol

Does he have a single comb? Body doesn't look right for RIR to me and the comb looks like other than a single, but the photo isn't clear enough to say.

Where did you get him? Honestly, the body type is weird for RIR and the pic looks like one of those wonky combs you see on some Easter Eggers in the pic. He's red, yeah, but RIR? I can't see it.

his body is wrong fro a RIR his tail is wrong his comb looks wrong and his color is wrong it should be mahogany whith no black in tail

usaly if you have to ask they are prodoction typ not ture RIR but still pritty good looking birds

No, the Standard says specifically that their tail should be black.

Yes, tail should have black, but the body shape, the head shape, what I can see of the comb shape are all wrong for RIR. I've had RIRs from hatchery as well as some gorgeous dark, huge ones from a breeder.

That rooster is 100% not a Rhode Island Red.

He could be a Hatchery Buckeye or Buckeye Cross.

You are incorrect about the tail color.
The tail color of a Rhode Island Red is to be Black along with the Primary Lower Webs and Primary Coverts should be Black with edged of dark Red.
