I think it's a boy. It looks peachy through the chest and the fact the markings on the head are brown, not black. All my gold girls have black markings on the head. If it's still a young bird the spots may go. I've had some spotty chested boys but they all had red or peach in there too. Females will not display those colours. They have brown spots on a cream base.

Seem logical.Really grateful for the inpuy . Means these are less than 8 weeks old. We have winters from November to February in Pakistan

Don't you think we have found another indicator for males, they have brow head markings ? Let me add another one from a Pakistani birds seller, who claims that males have comparatively more black beaks.

Bought four more today.two whites and two quite dark in colour. The seller said the female has a white face and neck while the male is brown faced.I winder what the dar coloured pair is by breed. Plan to send pics soon.Some call the dark ones as wild.
