This one chick (3 weeks old) seems to be getting bigger than my other 7. The feet are bigger and it is a bit taller than the others as well. Do I have a Roo? It's a very friendly Easter Egger.

I might not be completely accurate when it comes to sexing, and this could very well be a fool’s guess—but I usually look at the wing structure, especially the coverts. The spacing and gaps there suggest it might be a roo. My method isn’t exactly conventional, and while I can’t say I’ve ever been proven wrong, there’s one chick that still has me unsure- but the rest have been spot on.

However chicks develop at different rates, Im new at this. Only know my own flock, and the birds in clinic.

Here is an update at 10 weeks old. No “red” coming in on the wings but is getting some gray. A definite hook to the tail and holds it upright most of the time. Comb is not very red. 🤷🏼‍♀️
