I have two dominiques, both about 6 wks old. The one featured in the picture has a redder face (comb/wattle) than the other one, and its iris color is already a good bit lighter than the other chick. I'm no expert (noob) and don't know if it's just a variation, or if this is a gender difference. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.

LOOK AT THE FEET IF THEY HAVE A GREY WASH LOOK TO THEM THAT IS HENS IF THEY ARE YELLOW FROM LEG TO FEET THAT IS A ROO. ITS A LITTLE HARDER TO TELL WHEN THEY GET OLDER BUT FROM THE PIC THE ONE IN THE BOTTOM PIC IS DEF A HEN

Thanks!  Both have grayish feet.  Whew!  I didn't want a roo if I could help it!

That doesn't make any difference at all. They should all have yellow legs - girls will normally have grey wash down the front of the legs and toes, but under the foot should be yellow for both sexes.

Either way, these are both girls :)

Good to know! I first got a bit suspicious when one of them was a bit darker than the other...I guess it's just a variation. Thanks again!
