Is this chicken a baby rooster? It attacks me and everyone in the morning, or when you go in the run to refil the water for example or walk around the run itself etc. It's been cherping very deeply, and have caught it jumping on the girl hens to... It's been pecking my legs, showing the girls things when it finds a worm, basically doing what a cockerel does, but im confused as I ordered 4 ladies, but this one i think isnt. Either that or this hen has a weird personality.. Is there anyway to know if this is a hen or a rooster??

Could anyone tell me the breed to ? pictures below... I need some feedback on this..

that is definitely a pullet.
it could be she has taken it upon herself to "Be The Rooster" of the flock in the absence on one.
she might even start to attempt to crow.
her comb is nice and red. is she laying eggs yet?
Thank god its a pullet, i was thinking shes taken it upon her self to be the boss, the thing that confused me was mounting the other girls :s, unless thats it way to fight or tell them off?

She's the only one who isn't laying as of yet, she's such an evil thing, you try and walk towards her she'll crow and start pecking you. Its a maddam this one :he

well, i have no idea what you can do to calm her down. some folks here will tell you to snap her with your finger on her head when she pecks you.
i think it may be a hormonal thing and that she will calm down with age.
others will tell you to pick her up and carry her around and befriend her.
some might say cull or re-home her as a crowing hen is bad luck.
poppycock!
i always favor my strong and bossy hens. they make the best ferocious broodies as they will die for there chicks and sometimes do.
i say enjoy and accept her as she is.
of course not all are as accepting and tolerant of different personalities.
she is your girl and the decision is yours
Good Luck!

How old is she?

I'd say over 4-5 months

Surely looks like a pullet, but that is extreme behavior for a pullet.
Exactly my thoughts hence I came here to ask because this pullet is getting worse in behaviour, i thought for a second oh no please dont be a rooster, it had me second guessing.

looks pullet here also I have one hen that acts that way boot her gently I take a walking stick mostly because I am old unstable I gently moved her as she started toward me now has stoppped

Once she begins laying her behavior may improve - :fl

I hope so i'll give it a another month or 2 if she doesn't improve i will have to remove her, shes been causing the other girls to bleed here and there. I've never seen behaviour like it from a pullet. When I caught her on top of the other chickens like a rooster does that my concerns to come on here even more. I'm relieved shes a pullet, thanks for the responses everyone.
