Is this a rooster? She’s 12 weeks old and we thought she was a hen

I find Easter Eggers especially difficult to tell, but I think this one looks male.

I'm pretty sure that's a cockerel.

Fun fact: A cockerel is a male chicken under 1 year old. When he is 1 year old, he will be a rooster.

Also, the tail is pretty long and shiny for that age.....I'm guessing cockerel. (Again, lol)

Look at that tail! Loving it. Think it is a cockerel, though. My mom had a ton of EE’s when I was growing up and it was quite difficult to sex them. Maybe he will lay an egg.

Looks like quite a few of us have caught the brunt of the "straight run" EEs that were available this spring. I believe I got 5 cockerels out of 8 straight run EE/ameraucanas. Pretty, like this guy, but meh, too many!

They are hard to tell apart until they start fighting or attacking the hens... then they seem to make themselves known. smh. Boyz.
