I need help. this is my 10 week old hen. I found her like this yesterday and don't know what is wrong. The swollen areas feel like you can hear air swishing around in them on her breast and her head. Can anyone give me some advice?

I am so sorry about your pullet. I do not know what might be wrong. You need to post this question in our emergency section for more help....

I hope you can get help there and she makes a full recovery soon.

Hello :frow and Welcome To BYC! Sorry about your hen, X2 on TwoCrows suggestion of posting in the Emergencies forum.

Welcome to BYC - may very well be a broken air sac. It may be possible to release pressure/air by inserting the needle from a hypodermic syringe gently into the 'bubble'. Such a problem can resolve, but in my experience it takes a lot of time.

I posted on the emergency forum and tried the needle thing. She seems to be a little better but her head is still real puffy. She is eating and drinking so that is a good thing. Thanks for the suggestions!!
