I think this is a ruptured air sac... It's soft and moveable and the farmer that was caring for them before I took them over this week tried crop surgery on it and only found milky fluids in the crop... no straw or impaction. Thoughts?
I just had this happen for the first time. It seemed to inflate right away and I drained the air again. I’m not sure if it will heal or not or if it will need to be wrapped (I’m about to go out of town for a few days so this might not be possible).
This may need to be repeated if the air accumulates again right away. Hopefully not. Leaking air sacs can happen after a bump or blunt trauma. Sometimes it may be caused by infection.
