Cute little fella. Still too young to tell. I'm also slightly more familiar with silkies and their dark combs and wattles. I'd give it a couple more weeks.

Thank you very much. I appreciate your reply and I'll give him/her a couple weeks

No problem, I have a mixed chick and I think he might be a rooster but the last time I thought that it wound up being just a dominant female. In that case I was able to definitely tell after about 10-12 weeks and the rooster was the friendliest one of that brood. 😊

I'm hoping it's a rooster and would be fine with female. I had a leghorn rooster and he was the kindest rooster to us. I have 28 baby chicks most straight run so not sure what I'll end up with.

Bantams are usually straight run because it's difficult to sex them as chicks because of their size. I always cross my fingers that there's more hens that roosters. One year we had a brood of six with four roosters. They were all rehomed to other farms in our area needing roosters. (We have normal size chickens as well.) We currently just have an EE x Silver Laced Wyandotte and despite his dad being a jerk, he's one of the most gentle and laid back roosters we've ever owned.
