Is this a Splash Orpington? Hen or rooster?

Oh, the two in the picture above this one aren't mine. They were posted by someone else as an age comparison. But, boo hoo! I was sure hoping this would be a hen! Such a pretty baby! And, yeah, there's a black feather on the chest and one on the back. Kinda interesting!

And, if you don't mind me asking, what are you looking at that lets you know it's a rooster? This is all brand new to me and I would love to know!

PS... The thickness of the legs & you will be seeing the hackle & streamers develop, this is where I get confused. This is where I get confused but it's the feather on the back at the base of the tail (streamers) and the neck feathering (hackle) will be slender/narrow compared to those of a hen. Someone with more experience will correct my location of streamers & hackle feathering, can never get those two straight :(

I have two lavender and one blue Orpinton chickens. Theyare 5-6 weeks old. I have been toldthat the blue could possiblybe a cockeraland the two lavenders are pullets. Opinions please. Thanks
