Is this a suitable shelter for meat rabbits?

Hi guys,

I would really like to start raising meat rabbits. I have all the supplies and have located a breeder. I live in Wisconsin (so it gets really cold in the winter). This shed is on our property and I would like to make it the rabbit shed. The walls are metal and are not the sturdiest (cheap construction - was here when we bought the house) but I will ensure that it is waterproofed over their cages. Since I have never raised rabbits before, my question for experienced people is - would this building be enough for rabbits in a harsh winter? Assuming they have fresh water, a nest box/structure inside their cage to go into and plenty of hay? Or do I need to delay getting them until I can build a better place.

I am removing the rotten plywood on the floor so that beneath their cages is just dirt. I was also thinking of putting an old window or plexiglass in the roof so they have more light.

Thanks for any input or suggestions to make it more suitable

Rabbits are very winter hardy. As long as you aren't trying to breed during the cold season rabbits need mostly protection from the elements. In winter I let hay build up in my cages and hutches. My bunnies don't really feel the cold. That shed can work but you will need windows for ventilation and light. In summer that tin will heat up. Rabbits do worse in heat than cold.
