    Hey everyone,
I got this gosling as one of my bargain goslings from Holderreads, I was thinking it was a Toulouse (they don't tell you what kind you are getting in the assortments) but I saw some pictures of Pilgrims and now I am confused. Is it possible he/she is a mix? He's completely blind, and was just bathing before this picture so that is why he looks confused and wet. :) Oh... and just for kicks I added a pic of my Lavender Ice pair. :)

Yes, it could possibly be a Pilgrim - but if so, it is a female -- female Pilgrims are gray with just a little white on wings an tail, male Pilgrims are the opposite, mostly white with just hints of gray.

Looks a lot like my Pilgrim female that is now 5 weeks old.

I only have experience with this one breed, so I can't begin to say whether or not it could be Toulouse.

    But, Pilgrim is a possibility.

Doesn't look like any of my toulouse.
Bill and face remind me of my american buff.
What does an american blue look like?
Not familiar with pilgrim enough to give an opinion on them.
    Very nice looking geese though.

A buff or blue aren't even close to that. Your right the bill color is wrong for a Toulouse but the rest is pretty close to what hatchery are selling as Toulouse. Hatcheries also cross the Embden and Toulouse so that could explain the bill color.

I'm thinking he's a mix then? The two Lavender Ice are Americans, and they don't look anything like him in the bill or face. He/she is sweet as pie regardless. :) I did send these pics to Holderreads to ask them, still waiting on a reply.

Very Interesting about the Pilgrim color sexing! I would guess it's more on the Toulouse side - do you know what the parents are or have photo?

Quote:why do you say the bill color is wrong?
My Toulouse's bill was that color when he was little. It was dark, went light like that, now its orange.

eta- Im sorry, you are right. I just went back and looked at pictures of Henry's bill. It was more orangey.
