This is a pic of Mask one of our Black Ameraucanas that I got from eggs from Lisa.

Any idea what that is above the eye?

I'm imagining I could bring a scalpel from work and remove it and throw some Neosporin over it. What do y'all think?

It's been growing slowly over the past two weeks... but lately has started getting bigger.

I'll have to catch Mask again and see if it's hard or soft.

If you attempt to remove it yourself, be sure to have some sort of blood stop powder. Any cutting on the facial area (because it is very vascular) there will be lots of bleeding. You can get it at any vet and possibly a feed store. Be very careful. Then use non-pain killing neosporin on it. Good luck

Hi- Not sure if you resolved your chicken's tumor issue, but I took my hen in and the vet checked a tumor below her eye-she lacerated it and tried to cut it off but it was too vascular, we decided not to get it cut off and tested because the vet said that if it was merricks or another bad virus there's nothing we could do to help her and if it was benign then she'd be ok. The vet also said that hens with merricks disease usually die after 6 months and more tumors show up on other parts of the body. So the vet said that if the tumor starts to be a problem them we could get it removed but if it's not bothering her it's fine to leave it along. Overall my hen is healthy and happy, she's just got a bump below her eye. I wish you the best and would be interested to know what the result was?
