Is this a vintage chicken watering can?

Hi! We found this in an old barn. Does anyone know what it is? Is this a chicken watering can? Not sure if it's zinc or galvanized metal. It's 2 parts, the red painted part slips down over the inside part....thanks!

Looks like it. I have one exactly like that, minus the red.

Yes. My grandmother used those. I don't know how old it is, but she had chickens ever since my mother could remember. So it could be a vintage item, 1930's? Or she might have bought it later.
