The genes that control the brown coating are very complex, and little understood. Some are recessive, some dominant, and birds can have multiple different brown coating genes. That's why there are so many shades of brown.
There is no way to say with any certainty what genes he's carrying, without knowing his exact lineage. Most of his offspring will likely lay shades of brown, however, there will be a few that will probably lay white.
