Is this an embryo?

The part on the right is also the soft membrane that this “egg” had instead of a shell. It was one of those small blop kind rather than a full sized egg. This was in it. We only have hens and we know of no neighbors that also keep chickens...so, what is going on here?
 
I don't think so, when I've broken eggs with various aged embryos inside it's been heartbreakingly obvious, such as a beating heart, eyes, beak, and feet.
How old was the chicken that laid this egg? What's it being fed? Do all your chickens act normal?

ETA: I don't see veins either, so I am positive this is not an embryo.

Organic layer feed with a bit of oyster shell added, plus lots of free range time on a no chemicals property. My Rhodie’s are all about 2 1/2.
