Is this an internal organ or an egg??

I found this in the nest this morning.


All the hens and vents seem fine.

One hen has what I think is a defective egg chamber because many of her eggs break when they are laid, or even before they are laid. This looks like an egg chamber, but if it came out she would be bleeding or dying, right? It is not exactly an egg because one end of it is firm like raw meat, the other end is liquidy inside. I do not have the stomach to dissect it :(

Any thoughts greatly appreciated!
 
It is a egg gone wrong when forming. This is interesting but I've read Sometimes some tissue gets dislodged and goes through the hens body as if it were a egg.thatslikely what you have here. I've seen some very strange "eggs" on this forum and as long as it is not happening all the time it is fine. Sometimes these eggs happen. I'll bet if you disect it you will see rubbery layers inside. I've seen this before.i would not worry unless she continues to lay these things. I hope this helps. Best wishes
