I know it's a bit after the fact, but thank you so much for this info! I have been worried about my own duck egg as I saw shadows in the membrane about 45 hours ago, even woke up at 2am to check on it at the 36hour mark, and was now sat here reading to get answers, and distract myself, while trying to decide how much longer to wait before I stepped in to make a safety hole! It was only about an hour ago that I candled and saw an actual 'beak' shape.... So i guess it's time to relax (It looks like it is pressing at the membrane. You'll see a definite beak shaped shadow once it has internally pipped. There's no harm increasing the humidity at this stage. The air cell on that one looks great. It's amazing how much they draw down once the chicks are gearing up to hatch. Good luck! Exciting!![]()
Hi! I know this is an old thread, but what incubator are you using? I love that the top is clear!View attachment 1307161 We have 2 eggs with external pips! We have a total of 8 Ancona duck eggs and they are due to hatch tomorrow. Two have already externally pipped and we are excited! I will update as progress happens!
