Is this appropriate duck behavior?

I have a 6 month old female duck and I put her in our little pool and she stayed in it for a second and then jump out. She has been doing this ever since! I also think it could be because it's Spring and she is 6 months old and could be getting ready to lay.Also she would also lay down flat like an airplane and a chicken even came over there and tried to mate her!

mine started doing that a few weeks before they started laying.
