Is this Barred Rock a Roo ?? Need to know before I give it away !!

Just curious...if they grew up together, one of them is already the lead roo, but I would think there wouldn't be any fighting. I've had multiple roos at one time that grew up together and there wasn't any fighting. When I'd get rid of one, then another would take over...jmho...

Yes, most definitely a cockerel. When my daughter was in 4th grade, we learned how to sex barred rocks.

Total roo-ness, but I agree, if they were raised together there are rarely problems. The alpha will take his place and the rest fall in line. I have 6 roos right now and there is no fighting and no question who is alpha.

I have no roos but I do have a very bossy alpha hen...we joke she's an in the closet roo.

Well the two Roos do get along great and that's probably cause they were raised together. The brown Roo is definately the boss. He roosts up at night with the ladies...the BR roo sleeps down under the poop board....lol

The brown rooster matured much faster than the BR did so hopefully once he catches up they won't start fighting.... he has just started to say "cockadoodledoo".... the other one has been doing that for over a month now....

I think I am going to just keep them both.... ugh.... so much for extra eggs. I was hoping to get a couple of more hens instead...I only have a 4x8 coop with a 12x12 run

Should never have named them and cuddled them !! LOL
