The ideal temperature for chicks, seven days old or younger, is 95 degrees F. Week two is 90, week three is 85. Each week declines by five degrees until chicks are ready to live outside.What should the temp be
The hottest part of the brooder should be about 90*. Google will say 95*, but I usually air between that and 90*. If this chick was shipped or taken home from a freed store, then make sure the brooder is 95*, for shipped chicks possibly even higher for the first day. There should also be a cool part of the brooder, and it should be room temperature. You decrease the temp of the hottest part by 5* each week.What should the temp be
