So in your opinion only older hens crow, not pullets?
Yes.
Any true pullet(not a hermaphrodite) I've read about crowing ended up being a cockerel.

FYI.....semantics, maybe, but can be important communication terms when discussing chicken behavior.
Female chickens are called pullets until one year of age, then they are called hens.
Male chickens are called cockerels until one year of age, then they are called cocks(or cockbirds or roosters).
Age in weeks or months is always a good thing to note.

Bit early for definitive hackles and saddles and spurs...and I've had plenty of curved tailed pullets.
OE pullet at ~3mos.

I'm awfully notorious for forgetting different stages of each age. I appreciate your correcting reminder, so, thank you. I haven't (that I remember) had pullets with curved tails- the photo you shared brushed me up on something new.

Really?!?! At what age?...got video?

One of my pullets did crow at around 9 to 10 months old.

Any of mine that did it are not pullets anymore. So I don’t have a video at the moment, but when I get some more pullets I will try and get a video to show you.

Does she still crow...or was it just once or twice or for a few weeks or...?
Were there male crowers in the bunch?
...sorry for all the Q's am just really curious as to the situation that would happen,
as I've never heard of it happening before.

Still crowing for an hour in the morning and occasionally throughout the day. Still no saddle feathers or tail feather growing. No change wattles
