Is this bumble foot?

Here is a video I found. I can see how that could fall off..those little webbed feet are so different than chickens.....
That video seems real helpful, and the guy seems nice enough, but why in the world is he catching that duck with a net like that and closing her in a bucket! Ahhh that was hard to watch. I guess I take for granted how tame and social my ducks are!

Well as someone with some chickens that will NOT let me touch them.... I understand the net. I think the bucket may have been a bit much but I understand how hard it is to hold a wet animal still. Personally I always just sacrifice my bathtub and sanitize afterwards, but I can see how with a staph infection that would be kind of.... offputting.

Yes, I realize that it is! Haven't had to do a ducks foot before. Thought sharing would help with some of it. I wonder if there is something on YouTube. How to wrap a ducks foot. Hmm..
I think most people that allow their ducks outside use the duck shoes, so there doesn't seem to be a whole lot of information that falls within the realm of 'I can't keep my duck isolated' and 'I don't have the duck shoes.' I've read reviews that say it's really difficult to get the right fit, and even if you have the right fit, the shoes are hard to put on. I even heard one scare story about one woman's rooster toes going black and necrotic after wearing the shoes.

I suppose. I feel like ducks (in my limited experience) are just more than happy to come on over and hang out, especially if you’re offering treats. I realize my ducks are maybe extra human friendly, even affectionate, so maybe this is more normal than I think.

I had seen this video before and I'm going to have to watch the part where she wraps the foot more closely. I still don't think I can do even half as of good of a job as she does in the video. It always looks so much easier in the video until you actually have to do it.

You are so lucky. My ducks will come over for treats, but once they realize there are no treats to be had, I'm persona non grata.

they are always more friendly and easier to catch if you handle them from the time they are hatched, talked to and interacted with, and in the treats they get as opposed to a flock master that just feeds, and has minimal interaction just they know they come and take some away some times, sure they are gonna be harder to catch.
