I'll try to get a picture in a bit when I can get some help. It does seem like a hard little knot under the spot now.

Okay that is why it hurts ever had a tiny small something in your shoe? It's amazing how that can hurt. Did I show you my Runners bumble she had?

No, I'd like to see. Do you think I should try to use a needle or tweezers to pull the tiny scab off?

This is big but want you to get the idea that not all bumble have black scabs I wasn't sure what this was since most I have treated had the scab I peel off and pick the bumble out with sterile tweezers. I took her to the vet first time ever to take any of my poultry to a vet , she was put on antibiotic and given meloxicam for pain I waited 7 days and the bump hadn't changed alot of I went ahead and used a scalpel and made a slit on the bottom mashed that lump and the bumble flew out and hit me in the neck. lol then I packed the hole with tripel antibiotic and wrapped then put one of those shoes made out of neoprene to protect and help with pain. It was amazing how fast she healed after I got that out.

Oh wow, you are so brave! I would be so nervous to just cut into it. Also concerned about wrapping and keeping it clean. I have one of the neoprene slippers that I ordered for my pekin, but it just didn't work very well with her - maybe not the right size. I would have to order another size for this duck

What breed? sorry I forget too easy. Since you'll be wrapping maybe that would work on making the shoe fit better.

she's a welsh harlequin, so maybe 5-6 pounds.

Not sure but good padding and vet wrap would probably work just as well. Maybe try the sterile tweezers and see if you can pick the head off. If you can get a pic that would be good too.
