Good afternoon,

In the past 3 weeks I have lost 3 of my beautiful Pekin ducks.
They are very well cared for, have heated coups, fresh straw at all times and even an in ground, filtered pool.
Then suddenly, one at a time they started limping and we brought them inside with a few friends for company, but it just got worse and 3 have died so far.
We just don’t know what to do! We love them very much and we don’t know what to do to stop this from killing all of them. 😢
Any advice would be very much appreciated!

I'm sorry you're going through this. I don't have ducks, but have you tried warm baths of Epsom salt or antiseptic? You can also check the ducks subforum at https://www.backyardchickens.com/forums/ducks.42/
Thank you for your message! I’ve been researching like crazy. And yes, we do warm Epsom baths twice a day for the ones who are just beginning to show symptoms. I have no idea why it’s happening nor how to stop it because they are far from living in a dirty environment. It’s never happened before and we have been raising ducks for years!
I really appreciate you being the only person willing to help. 💗

@AmyA248 with the one you show a picture of have to soaked then tried to gently remove the scab? once you remove the scab then the bumble should be easy to remove, it may even come off with the scab. Sometimes you have to use sterile tweezers and pick it out then you can spray with Veterycin and pack with an antibiotic ointment and wrap for at least 2 days then check again sometimes it has to be done a couple of times depending on how bad the bumble is.

@Isaac 0 was a good one for information about treating for bumblefoot.
