Is this common?

I have 5 pullets that have just starting laying about a month ago and I average about 3-4 eggs a day with only ONE day when I got 5 and1/2 eggs, my BO layed 2 one was the size of a Robin's egg the other was big.

I guess what I'm asking is, is it normal for the girls to skip a day?

That's perfectly normal for pullets who have just started laying. They'll even out in time.
