I put 41 eggs in my incubator 10 days ago, I candled a few of them at 3 and 5 days but last night I candled all of them one at a time. I found one yolker but the rest of them are all displaying veins and you can see the embryo "eye" and in most you can even see the embryo moving. I got them from my cousin who lives a couple miles from me and they were gathered over two days, they were not shipped or anything to shake them up so maybe thats why

Is it common to have so many eggs start or are some of these going to be "quitters"?

SURE! It's pretty common to have 100% hatch rate when you have your parameters right on fresh eggs. CONGRATS!! You are going to have lots of babies it sounds like!

Luckily I will only be keeping 10 or so lol, I had to put some in the incubator for myself so I agreed to go ahead and hatch out a full load if I could get the eggs, my cousin gave me the "barnyard mix" eggs of bantams, barred rock, black sexlink, red star, and mutts lol. I am going to take my pic of a few, give her a few, and probably give the rest away or sell them on CL.

yeah one of these has a small bullseye looking crack and a couple cracks that spider out but it is going strong, you can see the embryo moving around inside it.

    Ok, so to update.

The spider cracked egg hatched out a beautiful little black and white chick

I set 41 eggs. Ended up with 2 yolkers, and today I had 6 eggs that still had not hatched when the others hatched yesterday and day before yesterday. I decided to break them ( I know wait wait wait ) but 5 were dead and one was a yolker.

So I ended up with 33 chicks and I still have a silkie egg in the incubator due the 30th or 31st.

I sold 20 of the chicks so I have 13 left, I will probably thin those out a bit too when they get a lil older but they are too cute to let go right now lol
