HELP! I just came home after a week of not being with my chickens and one of my girls had a weird looking bump on her head. I looked under her feathers and I found a big bump with white on the surface. I’m really worried it’s something dangerous. I’d be willing to take her to the vet if I have to. Is it a pimple? If it is should I pop it and how?

I'm sorry I don't know what that is. Better pictures may help more experienced folks - hard to get good pictures of chickens, isn't it!

How is your hen acting? Is she trying to scratch at it, etc?

I would advise not trying to pop it.

I'll try and get a better picture of it, but its kind of hard because of all the feathers. She hasn't scratched at it and she is acting normal.

It won't let me upload the video i took and the screenshots i took are too blurry. The feathers are blocking me from getting a good pic. I don't want to pull out her feathers, but should I? To get a better pic? The pimple thing seems pretty hard but a little squishy at the top. Also, is it contagious, should i separate her from my other chickens?
