Hello! I’m not completely sure what day I’m on (I found my hen sitting in the nest outside and I always candle eggs before bringing them into the house to make sure there’s no babies. Well this time there were babies) but I believe we are very close to the end. All eggs are very dark inside. I decided to candle one more day and then do the waiting game. I saw movement in all eggs except one. Up until this point I saw movement in all of them. I have a feeling this one has died. I cannot get the baby to move and it smells like a boiled egg. I would hate to remove it if it’s alive but I’m just not sure. Is there a sure way I can tell?

If they're under mama, I'd leave it. She'll abandon any that don't hatch. If they're in an incubator, I'd leave it there, too. It could be that the baby has died, or it could be that there just isn't enough room to move around that much. Either way. a few extra days shouldn't hurt anything but your patience ... it's SO HARD to wait!
Good luck - and keep us posted!

I will definitely post pictures! This is the momma hen, Lucille. This will be the 3rd time she’s hatched eggs. I expect 7 of them to hatch. :)
