I went ahead and opened the egg because i knew it was dead. It was fully formed, so I have no idea why it died. So heartbroken

I am so sorry to hear that. Sometimes these things happen. There can also be things wrong on the inside of them, that you just can't see.

Are the rest of the ducklings at least doing well?

there was three eggs and only one hatched. He’s so lonely!! We have other ducks we will eventually introduce him to, but for now we are going to try and hatch more.
