We have had chickens a few times but it's been awhile and we haven't ever hatched them. Today is day ten. I've looked at hundreds of pictures and I still feel totally unsure of anything. Some were obviously empty but the rest are confusing. I feel like none of them look the same. Can someone tell me if this one

It's a dud.

One year I incubated 5 mailed turkey eggs. Only one hatched. The next year I incubated 5 mailed turkey eggs, all five hatched. They were packed the same way and were from the same person. You often read on here that you'll only get about half the shipped eggs to hatch. That's close to the average I got but each hatch was way different. You never know with shipped eggs.

A lot depends on how they are handled during shipping. Sometimes you get lucky, sometimes you don't. Because how they are handled during shipping is a great unknown shipping is probably not the best way to get eggs, but to get what you want it may be your best choice.
