Is this enough ventilation?

Someone suggested having the roost 4-5" or so above the poop board... that's in the event eggs get laid while roosting... they don't drop so far... Soooo, that's what I did..... The roost board and supports just tip up or are lifted out for cleaning the Sweet PDZ of droppings...

Sweet PDZ granular...the ONLY way to go! It sure makes daily poop patrol chores easy!!

Yes it does..... especially when the birds have decided to not walk in it.... they even have decided to leave the coop first thing, and not poop in it...

I have a small coop that looks just like that, and we added a porthole at top on the ends for high up ventilation in winter. We just close the porthole and open it when needed. It is covered in hardware cloth on the inside. Mine came with 2 lengthwise roosts staggered in height which were too high for such a small coop that is narrow. We replaced them with a single roost and lowered it to about 32 inches high. My salmon faverolles that use this coop are too fat to have high roosts because of bumblefoot. The only difference in my coop from yours is that I have nest boxes that stick out under the two windows, and the cleanout door is on the opposite side. They are a waste of room because all that is needed is a bout 2 nest boxes in such a small coop.
