Is this gosling ok?

Were I live there is a local Auction mart and a few weeks ago I was there and there were 5 small boxes of goslings and in each box there was about 15 the birds were wet caked with poop it was awful no animal should ever be treated like that you did the right thing God bless you and your husband !!

Main reason I don't go to livestock auctions or chicken stocks either, too heartbreaking.

I have never been to an auction for birds. I do not think I would do well there because I love birds just too much and if I seen cruelty like that I would want to call the A.S.A.P. or Human society on them. Because I know there are people out there who just think they are meat or dumb birds.

Guess I am just a big softy about my birds......

You are not the only one Im a big softy too

it was my first time going to an auction they had had tones of different critters,calves were being kicked into the auction ring there was lots of people there. It was awful the way they held the rabbits there 2 I remember seeing two older men in there 50s I believe picking up rabbit by the ears. I managed to save a two pigmy goats from a meat buyer boy was that ever a battle!! I ended up paying $300 for them they were infested with mites!!

That sounds awful on how they treat the animals. My gosh how would they like to be kicked and full of bugs or whatever else the poor animals had. Cruelty is out there everywhere!!!!

It sure is RURU and why isn't someone there to regulate their treatment? makes me so angry too.

Thank you Miss Lydia I might be able to fit a few geese in my yard soon but I wish I had more room were I live I only have 5 acres and my horse and pigmy's take up 3 acres of land.

Donne geese will graze right along side your horses and goats.. I have horses and the geese go in with them all the time.

Donne I do not have my geese with the horses because they just have a open shed and I do not want them in there because predators can get them. Now if you have a barn you close up at night and stalls you can put them in not with the horses but they can have one their self you can put them in there. Maybe some others on here can tell you more ...
