Hi, one of my 6 mos hen is laying almost every day. Yesterday she laid at about 12:00. Today, she went to her nest at 10:30 - which is much earlier than I expect since I was told it take 24-27 hours to produce a new eggs. She is in the nest for about 2 hours already. I feel that she is preparing to brood?

Hard to say...some like to lounge before and after they lay.

I don't call 'broody' until they have been in the nest for 2 consecutive days and nights.
My go-to signs of a broody:
Is she on nest most the day and all night?
When you pull her out of nest and put her on the ground, does she flatten right back out into a fluffy screeching pancake?
Does she walk around making a low cluckcluckcluckcluckcluck(ticking bomb) sound on her way back to the nest?

If so, then she is probably broody and you'll have to decide how to manage it.

I’ve had a couple that just like to take their time laying, so it’s hard to say. Agree with aart that those behaviors outlined in the post will be your sure signs of broodiness.
