is this lice? (with photo)

Glad I found this thread - my flock has lice and I was afraid to use the permethrin because Wikipedia says it's highly toxic to cats - but if you are all using it and presumably none of you have managed to kill your cats with it, then I feel a whole lot better about using it!
I got the Y-Tex brand of it at TSC.
As an aside, I called the local farm and garden place that has "All your chicken and poultry supply needs" and asked about poultry dust for lice, and he replied "All I got is chicken grit". So much for all my needs, right?
Really wish we had a co-op here!

I also have cats. It's fine for guineas - you can even use it on them.
 
I have read on this forum multiple times that cedar shavings are a no-no in your coop. I agree with the previous poster about respiratory issues and cedar shavings.
