Can you get close enough to see if your peafowl have lice around their eyes?
I'll tryCan you get close enough to see if your peafowl have lice around their eyes?
Not my pictures.
Actually, I just remembered that when I used that poultry protector, I also used permethrin at the same time because I didn't think it would work (the poultry protector). Just forgot it, sorryOkay. If you have a camera with a good zoom, that might work too.I'll try
I got about 2-3 feet away. I didn't see any bugsIf you have a camera with a good zoom, that might work too.
I’m not arguing at all the effectiveness or use when needed of the pyrethrin derived compounds, just arguing for the minimal use and minimal effective dosage. Just because a concentration is tolerated by a horse and won’t kill the Chicken doesn’t mean that’s the best product for the chicken, despite how the company that sells horse products wants to sell more “Horse and Stall” insecticide by slapping “Chicken” on the label. I’m not hot and bothered at all, I bear no one any ill will, I just don’t want to see bees and other things killed unnecessarily or chickens exposed unnecessarily because of indiscriminate or unnecessarily concentrated chemicals. That’s the sum total of my point..if .10 gets the job done, .50 is five times the necessary chemical. The 0.5% solution is what I use on all fowl. Since it is more concentrated you don't need to use as much.
Nothing but bugs are gonna get killed if the spray is used on the chicken or in the coop. Keeps cats out of the coop until the liquid dries and they will be fine.I just don’t want to see bees and other things killed
If one uses 1/5th the amount of the 0.5%, is that not the exact same thing as using the 0.1%?chickens exposed unnecessarily because of indiscriminate or unnecessarily concentrated chemicals. That’s the sum total of my point..if .10 gets the job done, .50 is five times the necessary chemical.
Next time you catch one, take a really good look, 'cause sometimes they are really hard to see.I got about 2-3 feet away. I didn't see any bugs
