Are there pin feathers in there? And it Does look scabby . I would try to clean it up a bit, but seeing as its in the same spot on Both sides? My votes on molting, or they got their head stuck somewhere and got scratched.

They look like really short hard feathers and kinda scabby. I will try to clean it up, thank you!

Those would be new feathers coming in. They are hard, needle like and have a blood supply. If they break they bleed.

Gotcha, I have called the vet but will keep my eye on her the next few days
