Is this molting or is something wrong?

This is my first year with my own chickens and I just wasn’t sure and I want to be careful. She’s had this bald spot on the back of her neck for a couple weeks now so I thought I’d ask. (we don’t have roosters)

I’m not an expert on this, but looks like it. My silkie mix has an “Afro” and she was mounting it and she had those feathers. im Not too good with this though. Good luck!

I agree, that looks like normal molting to me as long as there are no injuries. Some birds molt all at once, others, like apparently your silkie, lose chunks of feathers at a time.
