Is this molting or something else? Hen is under 1 year.

Hello! We are coming up on one year as chicken owners! I noticed today one of our hens is looking a little rough, the rest of the flock is all looking fine. They are all about 11 months old, so I wasn’t expecting a molt this soon. I know chickens don’t follow a rule book, so wasn’t sure if it was normal/okay for a molt in the middle of winter? It’s pretty cold here in Ohio. We’ve had a handful of really nice days, but back to the cold weather now.
Will she be okay in the weather? They have a nice coop she can go to, and their run has areas protected from the wind.

if this isn’t a molt, any ideas??

Looks like molting to me! Our younger chickens have just started molting although it is really cold here too.

Will she be okay in the weather? They have a nice coop she can go to, and their run has areas protected from the wind.

Yup, as long as she has access to a protected area, she'll be fine. I would recommend feeding some protein-rich snacks and she should get over the molt quickly
