Thanks! There are lots of references to him in the Outer Banks of NC. One bar is called Teach's Lair. Most agree his name was Teach, but a few articles say it could have been Edward Thatch, being from UK. I find the story fascinating. He started out working for Queen Anne. He took up pirating after his job ended. The name of his first stolen ship was Queen Anne's Revenge. I would love to know why he chose that name.
