With the Brahma, it may happen on their leg feathers too - lots of blood, but generally nothing to worry about.

Brahmas and Wyandottes won't get a "normal" chicken comb (at least if it's conforming to the standard). They have what's called a "rose" comb that's basicly a little "blobby" strip. My grandfather saw our Brahma roo and couldn't be convinced it was a rooster. Never mind the sickle feathers and spurs!
Good luck with your birds. Brahmas are very gentle and friendly birds - we have several and they're our favorite standards. So was the only Wyandotte we ever had (though I don't know the breed beyond that one bird).
