Is this normal for a guinea keet to do?

ive noticed hes been sleeping like this for the past week.. is it something i should be worried about? or is he short a few feathers?

Nothing to worry about. They all "assume the dead position" when sleeping. The first one about gave me a heart attack. (OMG! They're all dead!) Now I just chuckle.

BTW: That is the best photo of the "Dead Baby" sleep position I may have seen. Tooooooooo cute.

I got scared when I first saw mine to that... after I realized they wern't dead I loved it.

Yes that is a great picture! I think they are just adorable when they do it.

Yes, I ordered 30 keets this year and they would sleep like that, only all of them would be in a circle, feet in, head out around the heat spot from the light. I called it the doughnut effect, the wife called it a wagonwheel. Sorry, I didn't take pictures.

Wow, glad to see that is normal behavior I thought my babies were nuts when I saw one sleeping like that. One continually leaves his head in the feeder, reminding me of the baby falling asleep in the highchair.

Love how those legs go straight back. Like it's passed out. When I got mine the first day they were sleeping like that and I assumed they had a really rough ride (after figuring out they weren't dead or dying) But they slept like that often afterwards.

yes it is normal if it scares you when they do this you can out something inside they could roost on so they will roost instead of sleeping looking like it is dead. Works with mine

. Compared to chickens Guineas LOVE to roost
