I have two Silkie's, a hen and a rooster. They sleep curled up in a nest box together or in the corner of their coop. They don't go on the roost. They can get to the roost I think, because there's a low bar like two feet in the air that they can jump onto and then from there they should be able to get to the main roosts which are just a few feet higher.
I have only had them for two nights but their almost a year old.
I haven't had silkies before and all my other chickens roost so I'm just wondering if this is normal.

I have some young silkies myself, and they prefer to snuggle together in a pile in one of the nest boxes rather than roost. My bantam cochins do the same thing, I think its just preference!
