Does this look like feather picking to you? If it was mites or lice, wouldn't you expect to see it on all the chickens, not just these two? Any other ideas what else might be going on? Thanks

What about at night? I mean, something is happening sometime that's causing this. What do you think it is?

they all sleep at night no one in our flock pecks at anyone they are all very docile

I've had roo's get picked at by hens, and they will often put up with it. Unless you have a camera in the coop, my guess is it's happening on the roosts. The hen looks like rooster damage and potentially feather picking as well. They may be picking at exposed feather shafts, or if there is even a tiny spot of blood they will peck at that. She may be more submissive and a favorite so is getting more attention from him.
Most birds won't molt at 6 months, but it's not impossible. Sometimes the young ones will just do a partial molt.
I will attach the pattern I use for hen saddles, which might help with her. I use two layers of indoor/outdoor fabric like sunbrella as it sheds water and the tight weave doesn't catch on pin feathers. Elastic loops attach at the corners where the red x's are, that slip over the wings. 4- 4.5 inches on the elastic works for a standard sized bird, you can resize as needed for smaller or larger birds.

When you see my roo, it’s very obvious where the term “hen-pecked” came from. He’s such a sweet boy he literally lets them walk all over him.
